life and how weird it can be

Have you ever noticed how life likes to play these funny little games with you from time to time? Like for me I must have spent my karma points very well, as it seems that when I wish for something hard enough, It just falls in my lap. I can site many examples of this, and I will in just a moment so you can see what I mean. But it really makes me believe that there really IS some intelligent force driving our lives, and this is why:

#1: I was hitch-hiking from Portland, ME (United States) to Georgetown, Mass. (United States)I had no money and only 2 smokes to my name, and my arms were very tiard from lugging the 50+lb. bag I was carrying. My legs were shaky and ready to collapse because I was wearing a pair of big high-heeled boots (that wouldn't fit into my bag so I had to wear them), and I was nearly out of breath and wishing I could just find a motel to rest up at. But I knew I could never pay for one. Well...this guy walks up to me and asks me for a smoke. I figure, it's as good a time to quit as any I suppose as I only had 2 left anyway, so I figured why not. I gave him a smoke, to which he thanked me and we both went on our seperate ways. I continued walking for about 1/2 hour or so despite my protesting legs and my arms which by now felt like jello from the bag I was carrying, when the guy I gave the smoke to pulled up in a rather nice dodge truck, jumps out of the truck and hands me a 50 dollar bill and says, "Thank you SO much for that smoke. I know you couldn't really afford it because I saw you only had 2 left, it ment the world to me and I wanted to help you out since you were so nice to give me what you really could not afford to give. I hope that in some way this helps you get to where you need to go." I thanked him profusely and after he left, I walked for about maybe 5 minutes when this little motel came into sight. Now the odds that I'd even be able to stay there for the night were slim as it is as motels are not cheap, but to my suprise I had more than enough to stay there the night PLUS buy myself another pack of smokes the next morning!

#2: I was fishing one day and had just landed a 42" stripped bass (on a rod only rated 6-12lbs. basically one for catching bait fish, not trophy bass) while I was out fishing for mackrel one day. Now all I had on me was a small grocery bag (entirely too small to put the beast of a fish I just caught into it) I was dreadding trying to walk home with this fish slung over my back as it was nearly as big as I am, and I knew it would make me stink to high heaven. I thought to myself, "I wish I had a cooler or something" I put the fish beside me, gutted it out and prepped it for the dreadded walk home when I looked down into the water because something white caught my eye, and low and behold, a styrophome cooler (WITH THE COVER EVEN!)floated right beside me! I quickly reached out and grabbed the cooler and carried my fish home without having to get all stinky nasty!

#3 now this next story shows how one must be CAREFUL what one wishes for because sometimes the results can be rather devistating, but I was working at a temporary labor industry called Labor Ready in Dover New Hampshire, and had been for quite some time, when one of the regular workers there started causing problems for me. Spreading nasty false rumors about me to everyone he talked to, and basically trying to give me a bad reputation. (I guess because he was jealous of all the friends I had made there. I don't know)What ever his reason for doing it, he had really ticked me off because I worked extremely hard to keep a good reputation there as a hard worker and a good friend to those there. So I decided to confront him about it while we were outside smoking a cigarette one day. I said, "so why is it you feel the need to go around saying all this nasty B.S. about me when you know it isn't true!" to which he replied, "Because I don't freakin' like you, that's why!" I was appauled. and furious! I told him (and I regret this to this day) "So just because you don't like me, you go around spreading lies about me! that is the sickest thing I have ever heard, and I wish you would just fucking DIE and make my life a whole lot easier!" Well a couple weeks later he didn't show up for work, people at the temp agency were beginning to get concerned so they called him up. His girlfriend told them that he had just found out he had tuberculosis and was dieing, and about a month after that he finds out he has inopperable cancer to boot! I feel in some way responsible for what happened to him, although there is nothing I can really do to fix it, or stop the man from dieing, but I believe it was my sudden wish of anger that brought it all about somehow.

#4. I was in a relationship I thought was going well, but deep in my soul I really didn't want to be there. it was more the location than anything really. All my life I wanted to go to Texas, and there was someone living there that was very special to me, and I yearned to be there, and being stuck on the beach in the middle of winter in the freezing cold made me more and more miserable as time went on. One day my bf tells me he thinks we should break up, and that he will set me up with a place to go and some money to get me by untill I find a job. Ok...I could deal with this, no big deal...right? well, he gives me a grand and sends me to live with one of my friends for a while. I stayed there for a couple weeks, when my friend from Texas e-mailed me. He said he had just moved into this nice new apartment with lots of room, and was doing very well, and that he was going to college now and holding down a perfect 4.0 grade average, and all kinds of good news. I replied with how happy I was for him, sent my congrats with his new found luck and told him how proud I was that he was doing so well, and of course I told him about my current situation, and that I was having a terrible time trying to find work where I was at. but that I would occasionally work at the temp agency I mentioned in the previous example. He responded by telling me he had room at the apartment there in Texas and that if I had a way to get there, he would let me stay there with him. I was overjoyed! I wished hard enough to get to Texas, and it actually happened! I had the cash on me to get there, so I booked the next train out of Dover, NH and took off (against my ex boyfriend's wishes because he thought I was crazy, but hey...that's why they call them EXs. lol) Now I'm living here in Dallas, Texas and loving every minute of it. I'm still looking for a job, but from coming here, I have found the man I want to marry. He is the sweetest, kindest, most loving man I have ever met. He is supportive, and nurturing, and loves me more than life it self. and I love him back just as much.

Contributor's Note

be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Some examples of how sometimes if I wish hard enough for something, it actually happens. Seriously folks, I think this may even be some sort of 6th sense kind of stuff going on here.
